racing is one of the founding clubs of laliga, but this story is not only about football history. it is about survival, identity, and the supporters who refused to let the club disappear. fourteen years ago, racing was falling apart under disastrous ownership, dropping from the top flight to the second division, then to the third, and coming dangerously close to the fourth. the club was being destroyed from within, and it was the fans who stood up and fought to save it.

this photographic project documents that journey back to laliga during one of its most historic moments. made from inside la gradona, racing’s supporters’ stand, it turns the camera away from the pitch and focuses on what saved this club: the fans, their emotions, their rituals, the streets, and the shared sense of belonging that give this club its true meaning. on the day of promotion, like in every match in recent years, el sardinero was packed with 22,000 fans, and the entire stadium felt like history in motion.
